SOLO 142 Two cycle engine with the complete gear & chain drive kit for the Sun Baja 7 speed Tricycle (trike is not included).
This engine kit comes with the SOLO Typ: 142 40.7cc 2.5 hp two cycle engine.
This is the complete Gear & Chain Drive kit, with all parts needed to add the engine and gearbox to your Sun Baja 7 speed trike.
Pictures of the kit mounted to the trike will be added soon along with a video. The picture shows a Red GX35 engine, but you will get a the SOLO Typ; 142 40.7cc 2.50 hp two cycle engine. Correct pictures will be added soon.
NOTE: The Sun Baja 7 speed tricycle is NOT included. Installing an Electric Motor or Gas Engine will VOID and ALL warranties from the manufacture.
You can pedal the trike and shift all 7 speeds with the engine or just let the engine pull you.
If you want to pedal the trike the drive chain back to the gearbox and engine will not even turn, so Zero drap while peddeling or coasting.
No levers or turn or move once it's installed.
No extra wear on the tires as the axle is driven with a chain and sprocket.
The engine kits mounts low under the basket so you have full use of the basket.
This kit uses the Staton-Inc Outside drive 18.75 to 1 gearbox that has been in use since 1984.
Bolt on bracket, includes a freewheel sprocket on the Disc Brake rotor & 17 mm freewheel adapter with a 4 mm x .25 x 25 mm long key and a 10 tooth sprocket on the gearbox to get a top speed of about 23 mph. Differnent size freewheels and different size sprockets can be use to get more low end hill climbing power and ruff ground or sand and larger sprockets for a faster top speed.
Depending on your weight and riding conditions, other sprocket ratios - speed available, just let use know what you need.
We can decrease the top speed to 11 mph hour if you need to climb a steep hill.
The Sun Baja 7 speed trike has 24" x 3.50" Vee Speedster tires with Kevlar flat protection. You must slow way down (walking speed or less) on turns or the trike may flip over.
