You can tell by watching the video the Solo 142 starts very easy if you fail to press the BLUE decompression valve.
If using with a 18.75 to 1 gearbox to power a Motorized wheel barrow use a OUTSIDE drive ONLY gearbox. The Inside drive shaft will contact the engine and you will NOT you cannot bolt it to the gearbox.
NOTE: Buy the engine and the friction drive kit separte you will save money but YOU have to put it all together.

Make sure you READ the Solo engine manual regarding starting the engine and the pull rope.
English starts on page 10. Read on page 14 about the starter. Read all the pages from 10 to 18 before starting the engine.
It’s best use a 40 to 1 mix ratio for the 1st gallon of two cycle mix, then you can go to 50 to 1 ratio.
NOTE: If you try to PULL the Starter rope without the decompression valve pressed in you can damage the engine, starter assembly and/or the rope. Make sure any person using this engine understands how to start the engine.
Press the Blue decompression valve EVERY TIME before pulling on the starter handle to the start the engine. The decompression valve automatically returns to the normal running position after each pull. Be sure and “lift” the choke lever to the up position to start.
Very first time starting the engine. They fire on the 4th to 6th pull, lower the choke lever, PRESS the Blue decompression valve then pull the starter handle again and the engine should start.
Be sure and connect a STOP / Kill switch and locate it by your hand so you can stop the engine without moving your hand.
Be sure and read about the Choke in the manual.
Always pull the rope out in a straight line. Do not pull the rope all the way out – risk of rope breaking. After pulling the starter rope. Always manually guide the rope back into its start position. Do NOT let it spring back!
This engine works with our 18.75 to 1, 16.07 to 1 and 4.28 to 1 reduction gear boxes, 78mm Double Bearing clutch housings and the 78mm Friction Drive kits.
This Solo Typ: 142 engine has the same 6mm x 1.0 threaded four hole bolt pattern as the Honda GX35 but has 56% more power. It has 25% more power then a Honda GX50 and 1/2 HP more power. It has the same size of two shoe clutch rotor as the Honda GX31, GX35 and GX50.
If using this on one of our products you have to order the bracket, throttle cable and small black lever seperate if needed.
