Honda GX35 four cycle engine with the complete gear & chain drive kit for the Sun Baja 7 speed Tricycle (trike is not included).
This engine kit comes with the Honda GX35 35.8cc 1.60 HP four cycle engine.
This is the complete Gear & Chain Drive kit, with all parts needed to add the engine and gearbox to your Sun Baja 7 speed trike that has a front Disc brake and a Rear Disc brake.
NOTE: The Sun Baja 7 speed tricycle is NOT included. Installing an Electric Motor or Gas Engine will VOID and ALL warranties from the manufacture. The complete Trike with the kit installed $62.00 fee = $1,999.00 if you pick up here in person. It could be shipped via Truck Like for $225.00 to $350.00 in the lower USA.
You can pedal the trike and shift all 7 speeds with the engine or just let the engine pull you.
If you want to pedal the trike the # 41 drive chain back to the gearbox and engine will not even turn, so Zero drap while peddeling or coasting.
No levers or turn or move once it's installed. A super easy short pull and the engine starts and is very quiet.
No extra wear on the tires as the axle is driven with a chain and freewheel sprocket on the trike axle.
The engine kits mounts low under the basket so you have full use of the basket.
This kit uses the Staton-Inc Outside drive 18.75 to 1 gearbox that has been in use since 1984.
No drilling the frame. This kit has a custom made bolt on brackets and includes a #41 30 tooth cnc machined sprocket that attaches to an 18 tooth freewheel sprocket with Six chainring bolts on the custom cnc machined Disc Brake rotor & 17 mm freewheel adapter with a 4 mm x 4 mm x 25 mm long key, a replacement 17mm adaptor for the 7 speed freewheel along with a Double split shaft collar that allows enough room to install the 4 mm keys in both freewheels and lock the 7 speed freewheel in place. A #41 B 15 tooth sprocket on the gearbox is held in place by two snap ring groves and two set screws for the Disc brake / freewheel adaptor. This ratio is the standard and will get a top speed of about 24 mph. This will pull a 250+ rider with ease plus the weight of the trike.
Smaller size sprockets can be added, used on the gearbox to get more low end or hill climbing power, ruff ground or sand.
You do NOT want to get these going too fast and you MUST slow to a walk on turns. Keep the seat as low as possible.
Depending on your weight and riding conditions, other sprocket ratios - speed available, just let us know what you need.
We can decrease the top speed to if you need to climb a steep hills and or pull trailers.
The Sun Baja 7 speed trike has 24" x 3.50" Vee Speedster tires with Kevlar flat protection.
You must slow way down (walking speed or less) on turns or the trike may flip over.
Ride at you own risk.
