The engine - gear box drives the 2nd solid sprocket (this can range from 27 tooth to 40 tooth), then you can pedal the freewheel (range size from 16 to 22 tooth) on the hub and the 44 tooth sprocket or (what ever size need to match your needs) go to your axle or bike wheel.

ATC's NuVinci-branded CVP is the future of the bicycle industry and it will expand the market today and tomorrow. If you have a 26" wheel you should have a 34 tooth chain ring on the pedal crank, not included.

Use 34 tooth front chain ring and a 17 tooth freewheel on the NuVinci hub.
