10-9-25 Hello David,
Wanted to let you know that the 154 kit is awesome!! I love your kits! Thanks for providing an alternative to electric.
Regards,
Mike
You can tell by watching the video the Solo 154 starts very easy if you press in the BLUE decompression valve. This engine does have a LOT of compression when starting it cold. You must press in the decompression valve when staring every time.
Break in at 40 to 1 for the first gallon of fuel mix, then 50 to 1 mix ratio.
Each engine is test started before shipping.
No Warranty - No Return - No Refund - Sold AS IS.
Note: Not included, but you can buy the Single "D" carburetor adjusting tool for the low and high speed rpm if needed and you know how to adjust it. Make very small movements. This tool is pictured but is NOT included.
This kit does NOT include any two cycle oil unless you add it to the order.
Save a trip to the store and order now.
Be sure and add ONE or more of: Stens 2-cycle oil 2.6 oz 50 to 1 ratio #770-264 or Maruyama Premium Synthetic 2-Cycle Engine Oil 2.6 FL OZ # 841258
Make sure you READ the Solo engine manual regarding starting the engine and the pull rope.
English starts on page 10. Read on page 14 about the starter. Read all the pages from 10 to 18 before starting the engine.
NOTE: If you try to PULL the Starter rope without the decompression valve pressed in you can damage the starter assembly and/or the rope.
Press the decompression valve EVERY TIME before pulling on the starter handle to make the startup process easier. The decompression valve automatically returns to the normal position after each pull. Be sure and read about the Choke in the manual.
Always pull the rope out in a straight line. Do not pull the rope all the way out – risk of rope breaking. After pulling the starter rope. Always manually guide the rope back into its start position. Do NOT let it spring back!
The ID of the channel is 3.5" wide.
This is a Very HIGH Quality Two-Cycle SOLO Typ: 154 engine Made in Germany (not China) that should give you many years of use.
Be sure and add some two cycle oil to your order.
You will need to mix the two cycle oil and unleaded gas at a 40 parts gas / 1 part oil for the first gallon for break in. Put 3.2 oz of two cycle oil to one gallon of unleaded gas 87 to 93 Octane.
If you have a 2.6 oz of oil only put in Eight tenths (8/10th's) of a gallon for the First break in mix.
Be sure to read and follow the engine manual. English starts on page 10. Read about Starting the engine on page 14: The Drive roller should be in the up position (not on the tire) support the engine with one hand, slowly pull the starter rope until you feel it catch, then give a fast, short, quick pull max 26". Don't just grab and yank the cord. Do not let the cord retract on it's own. Manually guide the rope back into its start postition with your hand.
Do not let the bike fall over as the engine and or starter recoil could be damaged.
