NuVinci Tanaka PF-4000 39.8 cc Engine and 350% Pedal shifting kit

NuVinci 36 hole hub and Tanaka PF-4000 39.8cc 2.20 HP TWO cycle engine, factory fuel tank. Made in Japan.

This is a complete Staton - NuVinci gear and chain drive kit.

The Nu Vinci hubs can be laced into 20, 24, 26, 27 or 700c rims.
NuVinci does NOT give any kind of warranty on the hubs when they are used with a Electric Motor or Gas Engine kit.

Be sure and look at the Crank Shift Kits if you need a bike that you can shift gears with the engine. 

The Bike (s) are NOT included.

Some people will not need the ability to shift gearing with the engine and the pedals, but if you live where it's real hilly or want something to ride in about any type of conditions this is "IT".

The engine drives on the Right side of the wheel, driving a 27 tooth solid sprocket, a freewheel sprocket is placed on the output shaft of the gear box to allow the gear box to freewheel while coasting or pedaling.

The NuVinci 36 hole Hub has a 2nd sprocket attached to the 27 tooth sprocket and this is a freewheel allowing your pedals to freewheel when being powered by the engine.

The engine and gear box drives the full 350% range of the NuVinci hub. It's like have a 8 up to 28 tooth sprocket on our gear box.

In the Low range you can climb up a very steep grade or go off road, then shift the hub into the higher range and attain a fast top speed on level ground.

At 7,000 rpm's low range is around 7 mph but you have tons of torque using a 16 tooth freewheel on the gear box and a 27 tooth on the hub with a 26 inch wheel. Your top speed is about 30+ mph.

With the over drive you can slow the engine rpm's down and still have a fast top speed.  Most customers will want the 18 or 20 tooth freewheel with the 2.20 HP engine - 26" wheel. 

If using a 20" wheel you would want the 20 or 22 tooth.  The 22 tooth freewheel would require a larger engine.

Note:  Be sure and order the Hour & Tach Meter.

The larger the freewheel on the gear box the faster your top speed and the less low end power.

The kit includes the 98 links of 410H chain, one 1/2" x 1/8” master link, Inside Drive gear box, guard, remote stop switch, 60" long throttle cable and lever, hardware nuts, bolts, washers, mounting brackets and NuVinci controls.

Using a 27 tooth sprocket on the NuVinci Hub and a 26" wheel you should get the following speeds.
Your top speed will vary depending on many factors and may change by 5 +/- mph.

16 Tooth Freewheel should give you 29.59 mph - LOW 8.45 mph
17 Tooth Freewheel should give you 31.44 mph - LOW 8.98 mph
18 Tooth Freewheel should give you 33.29 mph - LOW 9.51 mph 
20 Tooth Freewheel should give you 37.99 mph - LOW 10.85 mph
22 Tooth Freewheel should give you 40.68 mph - LOW 11.62 mph
