Most of our gearboxes have drilled and tapped holes in the cover side of the gearbox.
This will allow you to remove the engine without splitting the gear case.
We drill & tap the cover so the 1/4" NPT HEX SOC PIPE tapered plugs can be installed.
Do not try to screw the plugs in too deep as the plugs are tapered so they will not fall into the gearbox.
The plugs are included; one will have a 1/16" hole drilled in it for a Vent.
Remove the NPT plugs and use the Allen wrench to reach inside and unscrew the Socket Head Cap Screws.
The two SHCS under the gear will NOT come out as they will contact the gear, but you still can remove the engine.
The two SHCS on the outside (not under the gear) can come out all the way.
Be sure they do not come off the wrench and fall inside the gearbox.
You can use a strong magnet on the wrench or place a piece of tape on the end of the wrench so the SHCS sticks to the wrench.
